Are you a hands-on Maintenance Fitter who thrives on problem-solving and keeping machinery performing at its best? We're looking for a skilled tradesperson to join our Maintenance team on the Afternoon Shift and help drive reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across our production facility.

About the role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimising our production equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum performance.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings to troubleshoot issues
  • Refurbishing hydraulic components such as cylinders where possible
  • Performing preventive maintenance inspections and supporting the site's maintenance plans
  • Recommending and managing spare parts and supporting documentation of maintenance activities
  • Contributing to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a safe and efficient work area
  • Supporting equipment installation, overhaul, and decommissioning projects
  • Ensuring all work complies with QESH (Quality, Environment, Safety & Health) standards

This is a hands-on role that's essential to ensuring smooth production operations and supporting capital improvement initiatives across the site.

About you:

You're a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter who enjoys tackling mechanical challenges and takes pride in quality workmanship. You'll bring:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Certificate IV in Engineering desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Fluid Power / Hydraulics highly regarded
  • Solid experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment (rubber manufacturing experience a plus)
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with conveyors, pumps, and pneumatics
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
  • Flexibility to work overtime or attend call-outs when required
  • A Forklift Licence (desirable, but not essential)
