South Burnett CTC Inc (CTC) is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged individuals across various demographics. Our services encompass Foster Care, Residential Care, Youth & Family Services, Domestic and Family Violence Services, Disability Services, and a social enterprise initiative, Gumnut Place. With a commitment to fostering well-being, we operate throughout the South Burnett area from multiple locations including Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, and Murgon.

Our Residential Services specifically cater to young people in care, providing a structured and supportive environment designed to facilitate their growth and independence. We currently manage multiple grant-funded residential care placements and supported independent living arrangements for youth aged 15-17, responding to their unique needs as they transition into adulthood.

Position Overview

The House Coordinator is a pivotal role within our Residential Services team, responsible for delivering targeted support to young individuals in our care while overseeing the staff's operational effectiveness. This position requires the ability to develop and implement routines, promote life skills, and foster positive community connections for the residents.

The House Coordinator will work collaboratively with a leadership team and may take on additional responsibilities as necessary.

This position is a permanent part-time role (contract of 60 hours per fortnight but can work up to 76 hours) with flexible scheduling requirements to meet client needs. The position involves participation in the on-call roster for approximately 3-4 days per fortnight this will include weekends.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in youth work, demonstrating a commitment to helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals. Candidates should exhibit leadership qualities, effective communication skills, and a deep understanding of the complexities involved in residential care.

  • Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience in residential care or a comparable environment, with a strong focus on supporting and engaging clients.
  • Specialised training related to trauma-informed care for young people.
  • Current Queensland Open Driver's Licence, First Aid, CPR, and Bronze Medallion Certificates (or willingness to obtain).

Additionally, candidates must be able to manage time effectively, demonstrate cultural awareness, and be prepared to adapt their schedules as needed to fulfil client requirements.

Salary & Benefits

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $44.58, in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHCADS), along with salary packaging options.
