About the role
We are seeking a Leading Hand Carpenter/Concrete/Form-worker to join our skilled team at SC Concrete & Masonry in Warrnambool, VIC. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual to step up into a leadership role and oversee construction projects and lead a team of tradespeople.
Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
What you'll be doing
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of a construction crew, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents to plan and schedule work
- Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to crew members, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain accurate records of labour, materials, and equipment used on each project
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns
What we're looking for
- NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED- if your a fully qualified Carpenter with no experience running jobs, we would still love to hear from you.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as relevant building codes and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and liaise with clients and stakeholders
