We're seeking a proactive and experienced Workplace Health & Safety Advisor for a short-term contract opportunity within a dynamic operational environment. If you're passionate about safety leadership and ready to make an immediate impact, this role offers the chance to drive meaningful change and support a strong WHS culture.
About the RoleYou'll deliver high-quality WHS services that empower teams to maintain a safe and healthy workplace. This is a hands-on role where you'll lead safety initiatives, support operational teams, and contribute to continuous improvement across WHS systems and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Model and promote best-practice WHS behaviours.
- Analyse safety data to guide performance improvements.
- Lead safety initiatives aligned with legislative and cultural goals.
- Support teams with hazard control, investigations, risk assessments, and JSEA development.
- Maintain and improve WHS policies, procedures, and audit frameworks.
- Deliver clear reports and recommendations on WHS and environmental trends.
- Provide in-house training to build WHS capability and culture.
- Influence and reduce risks, incidents, and injuries through proactive leadership.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience delivering WHS services aligned with legislation and industry best practice.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational HSQE legislation and behavioural safety principles.
- Expertise in WHS/environmental management systems and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on risk reduction and performance uplift.
- NT Driver's Licence (or equivalent).
- Commitment to safety, environmental, and quality values.
Desirable:
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and/or experience in work-based training.
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related field.
- Experience in utilities or heavy industry environments.
