Being the peak industry body within Australia, we also provide support, education, training, legal advice and supply of uniform through our secondary businesses to meet the needs of our members.

Primarily, our goal is to lift the standards of the Electrotechnology Industry and provide a voice and fight for the rights and interests of our members, while delivering critical information to ensure that our members remain in front of changes that may affect the Industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager - Major Accounts is responsible for leading and executing the company's sales strategy and sponsorship to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen member and client relationships. This role involves managing and developing a high-performing sales team, setting and achieving sales targets, cultivating a high-performance team culture and identifying new business opportunities.

The Manager - Major Accounts will work closely with other teams, including but not limited to marketing, communications, finance, member services, technical and WHS to ensure a seamless member and client experience and maximise sales potential.

In addition, the Manager - Major Accounts is in charge of Sponsorship management and managing the sales team (including the Member Managers) in the ACT, NSW, QLD, TAS & WA.

The position holder must be based in Sydney.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing sales strategies: Creating comprehensive sales strategies to achieve business objectives and exceed revenue targets. This includes market research, competitor analysis, and sales forecasting.

  • Managing the sales team: Leading, mentoring, and managing the sales team. This includes setting goals, monitoring daily performance, and providing feedback and training.

  • Setting sales targets: setting sales targets for the team and ensuring they are met or exceeded through effective training, mentoring and support.

  • Budgeting and forecasting: Developing sales budgets (in consultation with the CFO), forecasting sales performance, and managing costs to ensure profitability.

  • Building client relationships: Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive sales growth. This can include Sponsorship development.

  • Management of all major accounts, including Category 8 members.

  • Analysing sales data: Monitoring and analysing sales metrics to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborating with other departments: Working closely with other teams to align strategies and ensure the company meets its overall business goals.

  • Reporting: Providing regular updates and reports to the Operations Manager and the CFO, offering insights on sales performance and strategic direction.

  • Staying current on industry trends: Keeping up to date with market trends and industry developments to adjust strategies accordingly.

  • The duties outlined in this position description are not exhaustive and may require the position holder to perform other relevant duties as required and/or directed.

  • Occasional requirement for interstate travel, or overseas for the NECA Conference if required.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Experience in direct capture campaigns and sales performance based on specific targets preferred

  • Motivated and self-directed sales professional that can operate within proper guidelines.

  • Exceptional communication skills, presentation, negotiation and management skills, strong business work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanour required

  • Advanced MS Office skills and advanced networking and relationships in the industry

  • Must demonstrate competence in management, networking, target marketing to specific prospects, and have advanced selling skills, along with the ability to mentor a team to those same disciplines.

  • Proven people skills with effective experience in training, managing, mentoring and evaluating direct sales reports as assigned in a services industry focus (intangible product set)

  • Work under the guidelines and directives of the Operations Manager for all campaigns (personal and team) undertaken.

  • Hold a current NSW driver's licence.

  • CRM experience will be highly regarded.

  • Willingness to travel if required.
