About the role

As a Senior Specialist Sonographer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing clinical excellence, research, and innovation within the Ultrasound Department. Working both independently and as part of a highly skilled team, you will contribute to the ongoing development of ultrasound practice through your advanced expertise, research leadership, and academic achievements. In this role, you will bring:

• Professional Qualifications & Accreditation
  
  Current registration with the Australasian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR) and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound (or equivalent).
• Leadership & Collaboration
  
  Proven ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, provide professional direction, and coordinate complex departmental workflows to achieve service excellence.
• Clinical & Research Expertise
  
  Extensive experience performing standard and advanced ultrasound procedures, supported by research publications, presentations, and a commitment to innovation and continuous professional development.
• Communication & Problem-Solving Skills
  
  Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strong initiative in resolving complex issues, and the capacity to engage effectively with patients, clinicians, and staff across all levels.

South Australia Medical Imaging (SAMI) at the Repat is part of the largest public imaging provider in Australia With a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional imaging services provided by a multidisciplinary team, SA Medical Imaging provides care to public and private inpatients, outpatients and emergency department patients. We have 6 metropolitan and 4 country locations in South Australian hospitals.
