Commercial Finance Manager

We're looking for a commercially minded and analytically sharp finance professional to step into our Finance Manager role on a 12-month contract. 2024 was a huge year for The Coffee Club. We launched our new Three Stories Specialty Coffee Blend – our first new blend since 1989. We partnered with MasterChef, and we celebrated our 35th Birthday. We refurbished 31 stores with a totally new look and feel, and there's even more to come in 2025.

What is the role?

Joining us on a 12 month parental leave contract, you'll report to our CFO and support strategic initiatives, financial performance tracking, and data-driven decision making across the business. This role offers flexibility — we're open to part-time (3–4 days) or shorter hours, with the option of full-time for the right candidate. You'll manage one direct report and work closely with our CFO and cross-functional teams like Marketing and Operations.

The key responsibilities include:

• Setting up and scheduling Tableau dashboards for Executive and Marketing teams
• Analysing key initiatives such as VIP loyalty program performance, campaign ROI, and new menu launches
• Supporting the CFO and Senior Leadership team with ad hoc financial modelling and deep-dive analysis
• Leading the end-of-month review of P&Ls and preparing executive summaries
• Facilitating monthly departmental meetings to track P&L performance and forecast outlooks
• Driving the annual budgeting cycle (with a focus from June to September) and assisting with forecasting activities
• Overseeing FTE and payroll analysis, ensuring accurate and insightful Board-level reporting
• Collaborating with the Finance team to deliver EOM results, EBIT commentary, and monthly performance reports

Who are we looking for?

You're an experienced and commercially minded finance professional who thrives on turning data into clear insights and partnering across the business to drive results. You'll bring:

• Strong experience from previous commercial finance roles, with advanced skills in budgeting, analysis, and stakeholder management
• Confidence using Tableau (preferred) or Power BI, and navigating complex data structures such as products, campaigns, hierarchies and marketing funds
• CA qualification (preferred, but not essential)
• Advanced Excel modelling skills and a sharp eye for detail
• A talent for simplifying complexity and presenting data-driven stories in a clear, engaging way
• A background in hospitality or franchising would be a bonus, but not a dealbreaker
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders while mentoring a direct report
• Bonus points if you love food, coffee and the buzz of the hospitality scene
