Project Engineer for utility-scale solar (SCADA)

Atlas NextWave is searching for a Project Engineer who will focus on OT and SCADA systems across both operating and developing utility-scale renewable energy assets. They will support system design, monitor performance, ensure data quality and cybersecurity, and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support and engineering insight to brown and greenfield projects.
  2. M
    onitoring performance and troubleshooting of issues (incidents, corrective actions, following through to their closure, reporting and in-depth root cause analysis).
  3. Analyse SCADA data alongside market and contract information to evaluate both operational and commercial performance of assets.
  4. Manage updates to the OT/IT environment, including RTUs, by overseeing SCADA interfaces, coordinating firmware and hardware upgrades, and addressing automation needs.
  5. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on OT matters

Main functions:

  • Incident investigation and corrective action support
  • Root-Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Realtime Monitoring and O&M performance analysis
  • Reporting support
  • O&M Contractor Compliance

About You:

Diploma or Bachelor in Electrical / Communication / Electronic / Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent with hand-on experience)

1-3 years in any of: owner side project engineer with exposure to SCADA and/or automation from Utility solar or wind, or industrial controls/PLC support

Basic familiarity with RTU Automation, SCADA (Ignition) environments, SQL, Python

Exposure to utility-scale renewable assets

Awareness of AEMO / NEM terminology and daily market timelines.

Knowledge of OT cyber-security fundamentals (ISA/IEC 62443 awareness).
