Your role at St John of God Ballarat

We are seeking applications for a Dietitian (Grade 1 to 2) to join our Allied Health team at Ballarat, on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Work alongside our multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical nutrition and dietetic services to clients/patients using advanced clinical practice skills. You will ensure that the relevant clinical services demonstrate excellence, quality, current evidence-based practices and maintain the highest level of patient satisfaction and caregiver engagement.

The Position

  • Provides direct nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and/or outpatients at an advanced level.

  • Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients/clients.

  • Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate.

  • Uses expert nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards.

  • Document patients' medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required.

  • Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups.

Successful applicants must hold a Tertiary qualification in Dietetics and eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA).

  • Salary: $70,866 to $114,129 (pro-rata for part-time) plus 12% Superannuation

  • Fixed term 12 months | part-time 30.4 hours per week
