The Eva Copper Mine (ECM) is located in North West Queensland approximately 75km north-west of Cloncurry. The greenfield Eva Copper Mine Project is a significant and strategically important project for Harmony Gold Mining Company Pty Ltd.
The Project will be the largest mining operation in North West Queensland with a minimum mine life of 15 years and will involve mining multiple open cut pits providing copper bearing ore to a concentrator. The project is permitted, and the mine site will include development of these pits, a copper concentrator, associated processing and non-processing services and infrastructure including tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, water management facilities, power generation and accommodation village.
Harmony is the largest gold producer, by volume, in South Africa owning and operating numerous mining and tailings retreatment operations. Harmony also owns and operates the Hidden Valley Mine in Papua New Guinea including holding 50% (Joint Venture with Newmont) in the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. These Papua New Guinea assets together with the Eva Copper Mine Project are supported by the Harmony Australasia corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.
Harmony is preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in support of achieving near term 1st production and we are seeking highly motivated and experienced people to join our growing project delivery and operations teams. The Execution Phase will commence with front-end engineering and design, and in parallel preliminary site works will also be progressed in support of full project execution post final investment decision. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of defining, building and operating a major forward-facing metal mining operation that will offer employment opportunities across the project life cycle, from project definition and delivery into operations
The primary focus will be on implementing the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), developing and optimising maintenance strategies for equipment being handed over progressively, and ensuring vendor data and reliability considerations are fully captured during the procurement of new assets. This role will be instrumental in establishing the foundations of a reliable, maintainable, and safe processing facility as it transitions into steady-state operations.

- Support commissioning teams by validating maintenance strategies and reliability assumptions.
- Develop Safe Work Instructions or equivalent for conducting high risk or large non-frequent maintenance tasks on critical equipment.
- Establish defect elimination processes, leverage RCA and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide input to the development of long-term asset management plans for critical assets and systems considering long term strategy and lifecycle costing
- Mentor and coach junior reliability engineers and project personnel on reliability and CMMS best practices.
- Act as a key interface between engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure seamless reliability integration.
- Ability to contribute to safe workplace operations and a positive safety culture by ensuring safety is incorporated into all aspects of reliability as EVA transitions from Project into Operations.
- Ability to successfully collaborate and direct consulting partners to establish and manage the above.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in reliability or maintenance engineering within a mining process plant environment focusing on crushing, conveying, grinding, flotation, pumping and thickening assets.
