Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the QP Asset & Engineering Manager is to support management in ensuring that Qube Ports sites comply with all the client, regulatory compliance and company responsibilities, including safety, through the effective procurement and maintenance of plant and equipment at the operating sites. The role is to support the Management team with technical maintenance support for operations and procure and install task fit assets as required.

Specific Responsibilities
Workshop & Staff Management

  • Oversee workshop staff, facilities, and equipment.
  • Mentor apprentices and ensure all staff are certified and trained.
  • Support workshop managers with hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure staff competency in using fleet software and managing machinery records.

Systems, Compliance & Reporting

  • Develop and implement workshop support strategies, policies, and systems.
  • Monitor and report on workflows, KPIs, and compliance with NHVR regulations.
  • Install auditing and inspection processes for equipment and tooling.
  • Manage stock levels, stocktakes, and parts consumption records.

Fleet Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Ensure timely servicing and maintenance of machinery and plant.
  • Develop and implement fleet maintenance and repair plans.
  • Monitor R&M spend vs. budget and report discrepancies.
  • Recommend asset refurbishments, trades, or disposals to improve reliability.
  • Submit and manage Capex requests and approvals.

Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain strong communication between operations and workshops.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with operational managers to align on asset needs.
  • Liaise with third-party service providers and suppliers.

Technical & Strategic Support

  • Provide technical support for repairs and maintenance strategies.
  • Use platforms like Etvia and EAM systems for reporting and action tracking.
  • Create presentations for achievements and strategic planning.
