About the Role

This role is based in Sydney CBD and is responsible for ensuring the uptime, safety, and operational readiness of the company's Australian test sites and demonstration equipment. You will conduct planned and corrective maintenance, support trials and demonstrations, and ensure sites remain compliant and mission-ready. This role reports to the Test & Evaluation (T&E) Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities

Test Site Operations & Maintenance

  • Plan and execute maintenance activities across electronic, networking, and sensor equipment, including radars, RF sensors, cameras, servers, networking, power, and communications.
  • Perform calibrations, software updates, network configuration, and functional checks.
  • Maintain site infrastructure such as masts, tripods, mounts, trailers; ensure weatherproofing, corrosion control, and cable management.
  • Monitor and maintain batteries, UPS, generators, and solar systems; safely manage Li-ion charging and storage.
  • Keep maintenance logs, asset registers, and site documentation up to date.
  • Test / Demonstration Support
  • Set up and operate instrumentation (e.g., spectrum analysers, data capture tools) to support test execution.
  • Capture structured results, logs, and media for T&E and Engineering teams.
  • Support training events and customer demonstrations at company test sites.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with T&E, Engineering, Drone Operations, and Field Service Engineering teams.
  • Provide clear status updates, escalate risks, and close actions promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Background in networking, Linux, telecommunications, computer science or electronics.
  • Practical hands-on experience with hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Experience in equipment inspection, quality checks, and light repair work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with customers.
  • Ability to work independently in field or remote environments.
  • Willingness to travel regularly is essential, including visits to test sites, customer locations, and training events across Australia.

Desirable

  • Experience in defence, aerospace, or security systems.
  • Familiarity with RF systems, sensors, or networked technologies.
  • Previous exposure to customer demonstrations, trials, or training delivery.
