Senior Structural Engineer - Bridges | Townsville

We're looking for a
Senior Structural Engineer (Bridges)
to join a well-established engineering consultancy and contribute to major transport and infrastructure projects across Northern Queensland.

About the Role
You'll play a key role in the
design and delivery of bridge and civil structure projects
, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals. This role will suit an experienced engineer who enjoys both technical challenges and mentoring others.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading structural design for bridge and civil structure projects across all project phases
  • Providing technical direction, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and drafters
  • Undertaking structural analysis and detailed design in accordance with Australian Standards
  • Coordinating with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders
  • Contributing to tenders, proposals, and business development opportunities in the region

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Chartered status or working towards CPEng/RPEQ desirable)
  • 8+ years' experience in structural design, with a focus on
    bridges and transport infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards and Transport and Main Roads (TMR) requirements
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Midas, SpaceGass, or similar)
  • Excellent communication and client liaison skills
  • A proactive mindset and desire to be part of a growing regional team
