Disability Support Worker

About the role
Keppel Community Services' is seeking passionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team in Gracemere, QLD. We have several active night shift roles to fill as soon as possible (not sleepover, active, awake shifts). Casual night rate is $48 per hour, plus super, $61 on a Saturday (no super) $90 on a Sunday (no super) and $120 on a public holiday (no super). As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with diverse needs, enabling them higher quality of life and providing peace of mind to the family. This is a casual night shift role, offering you the flexibility to balance your work and personal commitments.
What you'll be doing
- Wake over, active night shift
- Assisting with personal care activities, positive client interaction, and medication management
- Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met in a respectful and dignified manner
- Collaborating with the wider care team to develop and implement personalised support plans
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations
- Providing a safe and inclusive environment for all clients
What we're looking for
- A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification in Disability, Aged Care, or Community Services (desirable)
- Experience in providing person-centred care and support to individuals with diverse needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- A current First Aid certificate, yellow card, blue card and National Police Check. PEG feeding training or experience is highly desirable.
