Join a Team That Makes a Difference – After Hours Practitioner role

Are you ready to be part of a high-energy, purpose-driven team that supports vulnerable young people when they need it most?

We're looking for passionate and committed professionals to join the MacKillop National After Hours Service, a vital, fast-paced service that operates after hours to support young people with high and complex needs. You'll play a key role in delivering responsive, therapeutic support across residential care, home-based care, lead tenant, and case management programs—all designed to create safer, more supportive environments for those in protective placements.

As part of the MacKillop National After Hours Service, you'll be providing essential support across our MacKillop Family Services national network. This role is more than just support—it's about being the steady hand and calming voice when it matters most.

Why You'll Love This Role:

  • Impactful Work: Help young people in crisis and make a real difference—every shift.
  • National Scope: Provide after-hours support across programs and locations Australia-wide.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with a supportive Team Leader and Coordinator.
  • Dynamic Responsibilities: You'll also help coordinate referrals from key agencies—ensuring every call leads to care.
  • If you're a compassionate, quick-thinking professional who thrives in a supportive, fast-moving environment, we want to hear from you

We have 1x Full time and 1x casual opportunities based in Preston, VIC within our MacKillop National After-Hours Service Program. The position reports to the After-Hours Coordinator.

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
  • Experience in youth services or residential care.
