Eligibility

This traineeship is directed to supporting the Australian Government's Overarching Apprentice Target for Women under the Public Sector Capability Pathway (PCP), aimed at improving gender diversity and supporting women to enter and thrive in ICT careers. As special measure under section 7D of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth), only female candidates will be considered.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

Are you passionate about technology and keen to kickstart your career in ICT?

This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic infrastructure, network, and cloud team - while completing a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Information Technology (fully funded).

We're offering a traineeship designed for curious, motivated individuals who are either currently studying or ready to begin their Cert IV journey. You will be paid for a combination of on-the-job work experience and study in this 24-month contract (the length of your study).

This is a fantastic role with real-world exposure to enterprise technology environments — including servers, networks, and cloud platforms — and a strong focus on learning, mentoring, and career development.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the team in maintaining and troubleshooting ICT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud systems.
  • Learning to respond to service requests and incidents in a structured IT environment.
  • Participating in team meetings, technical workshops, and project work.
  • Documenting processes and contributing to knowledge bases.
  • Building foundational skills in IT operations, security, and cloud technologies.
  • Completing coursework and assessments for your Certificate IV in Information Technology.

What You'll Get

  • Fully funded Certificate IV in Information Technology through a Registered Training Organisation.
  • Payment to study and work.
  • Mentoring and support from experienced IT professionals.
  • Exposure to enterprise-grade infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • A strong foundation for future roles in IT support, systems administration, or cloud engineering.
  • While we don't guarantee a role at the end of the traineeship, we believe this experience will position you strongly for future opportunities — either within our organisation or elsewhere in the tech industry.

About you:

You're someone who's excited about technology and ready to take the next step in your IT journey. You might already be enrolled in a Certificate IV in Information Technology, or you're keen to start one with our support. You're curious, proactive, and eager to learn — not just from your studies, but from the team around you.

Essential:

  • A genuine interest in technology and a desire to build a career in IT.
  • A strong desire to undertake or continue a Certificate IV in Information Technology.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Desirable:

  • Basic understanding of computers, networks, or cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, or cloud services like Azure or AWS.
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain and hold an NV1 level security clearance.
