Job details

The Service Configuration Analyst will support the ongoing development and uplift of the departments Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role will collaborate with internal and external service providers to ensure accuracy and completeness of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

Key duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Configuration Management Plan ensuring the CMDB is kept up to date
  • Assure automated data sources are populating discoverable attributes
  • Support CI owners to maintain un-discoverable attributes ensuring data quality
  • Monitor quality of CMDB data, where applicable requesting Data Manager policies to be configured to manage large amounts of duplicate, stale, or orphaned CIs from the CMDB admin
  • Identify opportunities for improving configuration management processes, practices and tools
  • Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders to identify opportunities and achieve team delivery outcomes.
  • Provide conduit between delivery and operations, addressing issues and clarifying actions required.

Essential criteria

1.
• ITIL Certification
• Minimum 5 years' experience in configuration management within a medium/large organisation ICT environment.

2.
• Proven experience utilising Service Now
• Strong stakeholder management skills to foster collaboration across business and technology teams.

3.
• Extensive understanding, and ability in applying recognised industry toolsets and frameworks associated with configuration management
• Ability to implement new procedures and processes to improve efficiencies

Desirable criteria

1.
• Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and present to executives.

2.
• A strong commitment to learning, continuous improvement, and a passion for configuration management

3.
• Experience with working with governance, risk and compliance systems and tools
