Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead a busy regional workshop based in Gnangara. This hands-on leadership role will oversee day-to-day workshop operations, maintenance planning, and a small team of fitters/technicians. You will ensure safe, efficient workshop workflows, manage workloads and parts/inventory, and support site breakdown response as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor workshop staff, allocate daily work and monitor performance
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance, servicing and plant rebuilds to meet production targets
• Manage breakdown response and prioritise repairs to minimise plant downtime
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service sheets and parts requisitions
• Oversee parts/warehouse interactions and inventory control to ensure availability of critical spares
• Enforce site HSE procedures, conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe work practices are followed
• Liaise with site supervisors and planners to schedule planned works and emergency tasks
• Drive continuous improvement in workshop processes, workmanship and turnaround times

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Trade qualification or formal apprenticeship as a Diesel/Heavy Fitter (or equivalent experience)
• Proven supervisory experience in a heavy plant workshop or similar industrial setting
• Strong mechanical diagnostics across diesel engines, powertrains and hydraulics
• Experience with workshop systems, maintenance scheduling and parts management
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a small team in a regional workshop environment
