About the role

Grain Store Newcastle is paying ABOVE AWARD RATE and seeking a full time chef to join our Kitchen team, with the opportunity for growth if desired. Based in the vibrant Newcastle East suburb of New South Wales, this is an exciting opportunity to work with a fantastic, hardworking, welcoming team, and showcase your culinary skills and passion for hospitality in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and cooking high-quality meals to the restaurant's menu and specification
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met
  • Collaborating with the team to provide exceptional customer service
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and menu development
  • Having FUN and some laughs along the way

What we're looking for

  • Formal qualification and experience as a Chef in a busy hospitality environment
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality food and customer service
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for fresh, seasonal and locally sourced produce
  • Knowledge of current food trends and dietary requirements
