About the Company
Our client is a prominent Law Firm based in the heart of Sydney CBD. They operate across Corporate, Commercial Advisory as well as Finance and Property transactions, mergers and acquisitions and commercial litigation. They serve a diverse client base including multinational corporations, property developers, high-net-worth individuals, investors and family-owned businesses. They are a reputable firm known for delivering practical and commercially focused legal solutions whilst building long standing relationships with their clients.
About the Role
They are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Property Lawyer to join their well-established team in Sydney CBD. This is a permanent opportunity, working 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Working within the Property Group, you will work across a variety of property law matters, focusing on acting for developers in acquiring sites and selling strata units "off the plan" including the preparation of associated development documents, residential conveyancing and general commercial, including some major acquisitions and disposals, general leasing and providing general property advice on a range of property related matters.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to property developers throughout the project lifecycle including from site acquisition to lot settlement
- Manage and advise on off the plan developments, including drafting and negotiating Contracts for sale and complex associated disclosure and strata documentation
- Oversee and conduct site acquisitions and disposals, including complex due diligence, contract negotiation through to settlement
- Provide commercially focused advice on project structuring including joint ventures, development agreements, options and funding arrangements
- Draft and negotiate easements, covenants and section 88B instruments
- Handle a range of commercial and residential conveyancing matters
- Provide strategic advice on strata titling, subdivision and staged developments, ensuring compliance with planning and titling regulations
- Support clients with post-registration strata matters, including disputes, amendments and Owners Corporation advice
- Prepare commercial, retail and industrial leases for both developers and their tenants
- Deliver clear and commercially focused property advice to a diverse client base
- Liaise effectively with councils, surveyors, planners and consultants to align legal documentation with development objectives
- Accreditation as a Specialist in Property Law is desirable but not essential.

- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders across all levels
- Have a commercial mindset and prioritise client satisfaction
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions with attention to detail and minimal supervision
- Strong technical skills in drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis
- A client-focused approach with sound commercial judgment
- Superior organisational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage deadlines effectively
Requirements
- Tertiary Law Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years' post-admission property law experience, preferably in major property transactions
- Proven conveyancing transactions including off the plan strata sales
- Pexa transactions experience
