Role Overview

Being a Support Worker at Prestige means being part of someone's journey — not just helping them with daily tasks, but making real, meaningful connections that support their independence, goals, and sense of self. Your role is to ensure that the people we support have the confidence to live the life they choose.

You won't just be delivering services; you'll be offering encouragement, companionship, and a consistent presence. The work is varied, challenging, and incredibly rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

Everyday Life Support

• Assisting with personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
• Helping with mobility and transfers, using safe manual handling techniques
• Supporting meal preparation and dietary needs
• Light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping
• Prompting or administering medication as directed

Building Independence & Social Participation

• Supporting people to access the community — attending appointments, social events, or recreational activities
• Helping clients build confidence in public transport or independent travel
• Encouraging and assisting with life skills such as cooking, budgeting, or self-care routines
• Promoting choice, control, and empowerment in all aspects of daily living

Record Keeping & Communication

• Accurately recording shift notes and any observations using digital tools
• Communicating clearly with families, allied health professionals, and internal teams
• Escalating risks, incidents, or concerns according to organisational protocols
• Respecting client privacy and maintaining confidentiality at all times

Minimum Requirements

• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Working With Children Check
• Police Check
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification
• Current Infection Control Certificate
• Valid Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle (if required)
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Basic digital literacy (able to use mobile apps for rostering and notes)

Desirable (But Not Essential)

• Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support
• Experience supporting individuals with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial disabilities
• Knowledge of NDIS practices, person-centred approaches, or trauma-informed care
