Under broad supervision, furnishes rates, freight descriptions, and other technical transportation information to assigned company facilities to ensure shipments of materials, goods in process, or finished goods are made in the most cost-effective way to the company. May audit transportation invoices to ensure that correct charges have been applied. Makes comparative freight rate analyses in order to determine the best possible options for securing needed transportation services.
