Quality Inspector

We are seeking Quality Audit Technical Inspectors to oversee static and dynamic testing, quality audits, and inspections across electrical, mechanical, IT, and communication systems on rolling stock assets. This role is ideal for skilled professionals with strong technical and inspection experience who take pride in delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality work within a rail environment.
Role Overview
- Facilitate the development and approval of project-specific technical, quality, safety, and environmental requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Conduct quality audits and inspections, reporting on production progress and issues in a timely manner.
- Undertake investigations, surveys, and witness static and dynamic testing, including functional testing of electrical, IT, and communication systems.
- Report resultant issues to ensure the final quality of rolling stock complies with the approved configuration baseline and can operate safely on the rail network.
- Analyse problems and provide recommendations for design or process improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
- Prepare and implement monthly reporting, ensuring alignment with on-time, on-budget delivery and project management methodology.
- Execute safety responsibilities in accordance with Sydney Trains Safety Management System requirements.
Key Requirements
- Relevant trade qualification or higher in an appropriate discipline, with experience in rolling stock manufacture, heavy vehicle, or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing static and dynamic testing of electrical, mechanical, IT, and communication systems.
- Familiarity with national and international rail regulations and Independent Regulatory requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
- This role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW) and requires meeting medical and competency standards.
- Full Australian working rights.
