Our client is a dynamic, private debt investment manager, specialising in mortgage fund investments and private credit for the sophisticated wholesale or private investor.

Over the past 7 years they have grown their funds under management and mortgage loan book significantly. This success has led to the need to appoint a skilled Legal practitioner, to ensure that they also build a strong foundation of governance and compliance.

The role will work closely with the Chair and the four founding Partners to navigate the financial regulatory space, manage risk and importantly, shape the legal function to support for future business growth.

Key responsibilities would include - but not limited to:


• Provide secretarial services to the Board and Committees.


• Review and monitor all ongoing compliance with ASIC, AFS and other pertinent regulations.


• Review and provide advice for all legal, commercial documentation and investor and marketing communications.


• Manage the company policy register including regular reviews.

You will be a qualified lawyer with experience in either private practice or in-house. While not mandatory, an understanding of the financial services sector would be valuable.

The business is in a strong growth phase (currently 17 people) and has a relaxed, 'hands on' and 'can do' environment. The role is predominately in-office and could be structured as either full time or 4 days per week.
