Remuneration – $97,755 to $102,129 (pro rata) (including Electorate Staff Allowance % superannuation
Applications are invited for a full-time ongoing role as the Community Outreach Manager (Electorate Officer A) in the office of Julian Leeser MP, the Federal Member for Berowra.
As part of our small team, you will be responsible for working closely with Julian to build connections with community groups across the electorate. Your role will focus on engaging directly with people through organising and attending community events. You will also have a crucial role to play in developing social media content to engage with the electorate and with broader audiences.
Key responsibilities of the role are:
- Community outreach across the Berowra electorate.
- Implementing an effective and engaging social media strategy.
- Working and engaging with local media.
- Developing and managing relationships with stakeholders across the electorate.
- Implementing and monitoring local campaigns.
- Running community events across the Berowra electorate.
- Drafting speeches, media releases, statements and transcripts.
- Other tasks as directed.
The ideal applicant should possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
- A passion for and experience in community campaigning and outreach.
- Highly effective social media skills, including photography, filming, editing, captioning and other digital content creation tools to build connections with our local community.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people to build trust, engagement and strong professional relationships.
- The ability to plan and deliver community events.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
Employment Conditions:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 with conditions as outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement , which include:
- A commencing salary within the range of $97,755 to $102,129 (including Electorate Staff Allowance) will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
- Relocation assistance, studies assistance and paid study leave may also be available (subject to eligibility requirements).
- An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.

- An initial probationary period of three months may apply and may be subject to extension.
- The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Policy History Check.
- Staff may be subject to automatic cessation triggers in accordance with Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act.
- The successful applicant will be required to comply with their obligations under the Behaviour Codes and Standards.
