About Us

Burleigh Heads Community Kindergarten is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation that has been proudly operating for 64 years. We were rated Exceeding across all seven quality areas in 2023. Our service consists of a single unit with two groups of children (23 per group), attending during Queensland school terms from 8:45 to 3pm.

The Dolphin Group attends Monday, Tuesday & alternate Wednesdays (5-day fortnight)

The Turtle Group attends Thursday, Friday & alternate Wednesdays (5-day fortnight)

We are a play-based kindergarten inspired by child-led learning approaches and the belief that children are capable, creative and full of potential. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, inclusive, inspiring and nurturing environment that supports children in building confidence, identity, and a strong sense of belonging.

We are currently seeking a qualified and passionate Educator to join our team in the Dolphin Group, commencing January 2026.

Position Details

Role : Educator (Dolphin Group)

Location : Burleigh Heads, QLD

Start Date : January 2026

Hours : 40 hours per fortnight

Employment Type : Part-time, 12-month contract (with review at 3 and 6 months and possibility of extension), 52 weeks paid including term breaks (school holidays)

Applicant Requirements

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) – essential

Experience working with children aged 3–5 years

Current First Aid/CPR including Asthma and

Anaphylaxis

Understanding of the National Quality Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Passion for delivering engaging and meaningful early learning experiences

Skills in documenting observations and contributing to planning for individual and group learning
