Terrey Hills Early Learning Centre (Terrey Hills ELC) is a privately owned, purpose-built early childhood education and care service located in Terrey Hills, New South Wales. The centre provides high-quality early childhood education for children aged 0–6 years, embedding frameworks such as the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and theories including the Circle of Security and Vygotsky's learning principles. About the Position

We are currently looking for a passionate and reliable full-time Child Care Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for caring for and supervising children in our centre, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that supports each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.

Reporting to: This role reports directly to the Centre Manager.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Helping to organise and set up materials, equipment, and resources for children's learning and play activities.
  • Supporting children's social growth by encouraging positive behaviour and cooperation.
  • Designing and leading engaging educational and recreational programs for children.
  • Engaging children through storytelling, music, and interactive games.
  • Overseeing children during playtime and other leisure activities to ensure safety and inclusion.
  • Monitoring and assisting with children's daily routines and transitions throughout the day.
  • Promoting good hygiene practices and ensuring children's cleanliness and wellbeing are maintained.

Qualifications, education, experience and abilities required:

Qualifications, education requirements

  • Minimum of Diploma qualification in relevant field.
  • WWCC and First Aid in Australia are compulsory

Experience requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Child Care Centres. (In Australia)

Essential Skills

  • Understanding of child development and early learning principles
  • Ability to plan and lead educational and recreational activities
  • Strong behaviour management and social guidance skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to children's health, safety, and hygiene
  • Empathy, patience, and a caring attitude

Hours:

The employee's ordinary hours of work are 38 hours each week as per weekly schedule.
