Business Analyst – Cyber Uplift Program

Contract | 6 months + extensions | Brisbane (preferred) or NSW/VIC | Hybrid

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a major Cyber Uplift Program, providing end-to-end business analysis support across risk, compliance, data modelling, and solution delivery.

Working closely with program and project managers, you will deliver critical analysis, documentation, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the program achieves its strategic objectives. This is a high-impact role requiring strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills within a complex digital environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis, risk analysis, process modelling and benefits realisation.
  • Develop artefacts defining current and future state, including roadmaps to target states.
  • Support project delivery with analysis, stakeholder engagement, testing and transition planning.
  • Prepare high-quality business cases, option papers, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and policies.

Skills & experience

Essential

  • 8+ years' experience in complex business analysis roles within cyber, risk, or adjacent industries.
  • Strong experience with risk management methodologies, measurement and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver business cases, reports, dashboards and transition artefacts.
  • Advanced business intelligence skills (Excel, PowerBI).
  • Working knowledge of industry security standards (e.g. NIST, Essential 8, ASD ISM).
  • Proven ability to gather, document and gain agreement on requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills in dynamic environments.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with GRC platforms and automation of compliance/risk activities.
  • Knowledge of AES-CSF, SOCI Act and Zero Trust frameworks.
  • Experience in financial analysis (ROI, NPV, benefits realisation).
  • Background in the energy sector.
  • Agile project delivery experience with modern project tools.
