• Initial contract until end of 30/06/2026 with possible extension paying approx. $82.95/hr
• Brisbane CBD Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week
• Requires flexibility to travel to NQ, including week-on/week-off arrangements, with the position based at Brisbane Central office

Our client, Department of Education, are currently seeking a Maintenance Plan Advisor for an initial contract until 30/06/2026.

The Maintenance Plan Advisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective upkeep of school facilities, prioritising data and building elements, safety, efficiency, and collaboration with various stakeholders. To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate experience with building maintenance, with strong knowledge of maintenance processes and asset management systems.

A high level of attention to detail is essential to ensure accuracy and quality in maintenance planning and execution. Problem-solving skills are critical, as the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements is a key aspect of the role.

The role requires flexibility to travel, including week-on/week-off arrangements, with the position based at Brisbane Central office.  There will be travel involved to FNQ, NQ and other parts of Queensland.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide client focused facilities services and advice to staff in schools, regional centres and other educational centres as well as the wider community.
• Provide high level advice, information and support services to clients across a broad range of facilities planning, investment and asset management issues.
• Coordinate with other regional facilities teams, Infrastructure Services Division and external service providers in the provision of a broad range of facilities services.
• Collaborate with staff across regional facilities teams, Infrastructure Services Division and other agencies to provide a comprehensive field-based facility support service to clients.
• Prepare ministerial responses, reports and briefing materials.
• Adopt and use business practices and processes in accordance with division standards and direction.
• Manage and monitor the delivery of designated capital works, maintenance and facilities services in accordance with defined scope, budget, delivery timetable and quality standards.
• Advise senior officers on a broad range of facilities planning and asset management issues.
• Conduct and report on operational audits of physical assets.
• Participate in and assist with the professional development of regional staff in relevant competencies.

Essential skills and Qualifications:

• Possess strong knowledge of building maintenance processes and asset management systems.
• Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and quality in planning and execution.
• Effectively balance competing priorities and allocate resources efficiently.
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate and provide guidance.
• Manage workloads efficiently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other business systems.
• Hold a valid Blue Card and successfully complete a criminal history check.
• Prior experience in school and building maintenance, which will be considered advantageous.
