About the role

As a Coal Sample Prep Technician at Mitra PTS Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate preparation of coal samples for analysis. This is a casual role with the opportunity for full time based in Gladstone, Queensland.

What you'll be doing

  • Performing crushing, grinding, and sieving of coal samples to ensure they meet the required particle size specifications
  • Carrying out routine laboratory tests and analyses on coal samples
  • Accurately recording and maintaining detailed records of all sample preparation and testing activities
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of sample preparation processes and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a coal or mineral processing laboratory, with an understanding of sample preparation techniques welcomed but not essential.
  • Thorough on the job training will be provided under supervision by experienced personnel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions
  • Sound mathematical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety
