This is an ideal role for an experienced finance professional who's looking for flexibility
(3 days per week)
while contributing strategically to a fast-growing technology company.
As
Financial Controller
, you'll oversee Rassure's financial operations — ensuring compliance, integrity, and accuracy across reporting, budgeting, payroll, and cash flow management.
Working closely with the CFO, you'll provide insight-driven advice to support strategic decision-making and sustainable business growth. You'll work with both our offshore book-keeping service and local accounting firm for annual reporting and tax compliance. Our accounts are maintained in Xero.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Maintain accurate general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supervise accounts payable/receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare management reports, variance analyses, and dashboards.
- Develop and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Payroll & Compliance
- Partner with the People & Culture team to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with Fair Work and NES.
- Manage superannuation, PAYG, and other employee entitlements.
- Oversee BAS, PAYG, and superannuation lodgements.
- Support accuracy in employment contracts, pay rates, and leave accruals.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Deliver insights and recommendations to support data-driven decisions.
- Evaluate business opportunities, advise on pricing, and identify cost optimisation strategies.
Systems Integration & Optimisation
- Enhance financial systems integration and automation.
- Improve data flow and reporting efficiency across departments.
- Support adoption of digital tools that strengthen financial visibility.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory obligations.
- Support audits and risk management initiatives.
- Keep up to date with legislative and accounting changes.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise external accountants and bookkeepers.
- Collaborate across teams to promote financial transparency.
- Provide strategic advice to the CEO and leadership team.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in financial management or controllership roles.
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, GST, BAS, and payroll.
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software.

- Experience in the technology sector.
- SME experience.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
