The Role
Bring your QA expertise to a dynamic and forward-thinking IT team.
We're looking for a passionate QA Engineer to play a key role in uplifting quality practices across projects, platforms, and BAU activities. In this role, you'll design and maintain test automation frameworks, embed QA into CI/CD pipelines, and champion a shift-left approach to ensure quality is built in from the start.
You'll also get hands-on with a mix of automation, manual, performance, and accessibility testing, using tools such as JMeter and K6 to ensure solutions meet the highest standards. Collaborating closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and QA colleagues, you'll be part of a supportive team culture that values knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
If you're a self-driven learner who loves staying ahead of new tools, frameworks, and practices, and enjoys mentoring others along the way and this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career while making a real impact.
Skills & Experience:
- Design, build, and optimise scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks for web, API, and integration testing, leveraging tools such as Playwright, Postman, and development in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java for automation framework implementation.
- Apply the principles of the Test Pyramid to guide testing strategy across unit, API, UI, and exploratory testing layers.
- Promote and facilitate a shift-left QA approach, advocating for early engagement in design and development phases.
- Become an Active Contributor to the QA Community of Practice, sharing technical solutions and insights across teams.
- Maintain a proactive approach to continuous learning, staying current with evolving tools, frameworks, and QA methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, best practices, and internal policies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop scalable, maintainable, and optimised scripts and automation code following best practices (e.g., clear structure, reusable components, proper naming conventions, and version control) to ensure long-term quality and ease of maintenance.
- Proven ability to embrace and optimise the use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Q Developer, GitHub Copilot integrated with IDEs, and agentic AI tools) by actively seeking better ways to leverage AI for coding efficiency, quality, and maintainability. Demonstrates a mindset of critically evaluating AI outputs, understanding the "why" behind the suggestions, and integrating AI into workflows in a purposeful, value-driven way
- Ability to apply the Test Pyramid principles to optimise test coverage and efficiency.
