In the role of Senior Associate, External Communications, you will join Corporate Affairs Team that's focused on making a tangible difference to customers while keeping it simple.
Each day, you'll go above and beyond to:
Be part of a team of external communications professionals responding to and leading the news agenda, advising and executing on communications activity across the bank including different content formats on NAB News and social media content across Group channels.
- Support the planning, advice and execution of activities aligned to the Communications plan.
- Support media relations activities: executing proactive external (media) leadership communications and engagement plans, managing reactive media queries,
- Provide communications support and advice to key stakeholders including social content and speech writing.
- Support issues management, including regularly looking for ways to build trust in NAB, aligned with NAB's strategic ambition and why we are here.
- Bring creative ideas to the table: tap into current trends and deliver content that is engaging for different audiences, including colleagues and external audiences.
We're looking for the brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You'll need:
- Extensive experience in Journalism, Corporate Affairs, Public Relations, or Communications with accountabilities for media relations, leadership engagement, content creation and speech writing.
- A passion for news and digital media.
- Experience writing and editing of news and/or communications content
- An ability to manage and prioritize multiple briefs and stakeholders, while working in a dynamic, cross functional and collaborative team environment.
- Copy writing skills: you create content with flair, you know how to find and tell a great story, and you create content well under pressure with tight timelines.
- Social media skills: you are a social media native and intuitively understand what makes great social content.
- Measurement skills (across media, digital or marketing), including how measurement can inform strategy, planning and execution.
- Stakeholder engagement skills: including demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence internal stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of the political, economic and external environment, and how that impacts communications strategy.
