Summary

The Finance Manager will support the Director of Finance in managing all aspects of the Finance Department, including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, compliance, and internal controls. This role ensures the integrity of financial information, assists in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and provides financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making. The Finance Manager plays a key leadership role in maintaining accountability, supporting departmental leaders, and ensuring the hotel operates efficiently and in line with Hyatt and ownership expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements in accordance with Hyatt and local requirements.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and rolling forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and provide explanations and recommendations to management.
  • Support the preparation of reports required by ownership and corporate teams.

Operational Finance & Controls

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Hyatt's financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and P&L accuracy.
  • Ensure proper controls over cash handling, purchasing, and expense authorization.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and develop the Finance team, fostering growth and continuous learning.
  • Provide training and guidance to department heads on financial management and accountability.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to optimize efficiency and cost management while maintaining service quality.
  • Act as a resource for problem-solving and decision support across the property.

Compliance & External Relations

  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations, and industry practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in hospitality or a service industry.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems skills (experience with Hyatt systems such as BirchStreet, Hyperion, or equivalent preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
