Batch Mewing Lawyers is an award-winning law firm specialising in construction, employment, dispute resolution, and commercial law across Australia.

With a team of 30 legal professionals, including 7 principals, the firm continues to grow and expand its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

The firm is in a growth phase, presenting an opportunity for a motivated lawyer to join our Brisbane based construction and major projects team. This full-time role offers the chance to work directly with the principals, with competitive remuneration and strong career development opportunities in a high-performing team environment.

About the Role

  • 1 - 3 PQE.
  • 'Front End' construction contract review, advice, negotiation and drafting.
  • Advising clients on their rights under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (QLD) and assisting with the development of adjudication materials.
  • Drafting pleadings and affidavits for litigated construction claims, as well as briefing technical construction industry experts.
  • Liaising with clients regarding the administration and management of their contracts and claims.

You will also regularly delegate to and manage more junior staff where appropriate.

You will need to have good written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and commerciality. You will be a team player who operates well in an open and collaborative environment. Experience working in construction law is looked upon favourably.
