We solve complex waste disposal and resource recovery challenges, Australia-wide. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Operations Manager to join us in Blayney, NSW. This is a fantastic local opportunity to work with a respected global company.

About the Role

In this full-time role you will be based at REMONDIS site in Blayney and working with our customers across the region. You will be responsible to provide leadership, direction, management, and support to the Operations functions of ETS to enable safe, sustainable, and profitable operation and growth of ETS business

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of our Blayney site
  • Be the key member of the leadership team for ETS.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of ETS operations.
  • Lead, organise and provide direction and be responsible for all key business performance indicators including safety, productivity, profitability, cost management, cash flow and compliance.
  • Monitoring operational KPIs and provide adequate support to the functions to ensure performance.
  • Organize and coordinate operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity.
  • Evaluate efficiency and operational improvement opportunities and provide recommendations for business performance enhancement.
  • Project manage business change such as introduction of new processes, equipment, and treatment methods.
  • Be one of the key stakeholders in in the development of new technical solutions to offer ETS clients the most efficient and cost-effective solution.
  • Be responsible for adequately resourcing and equipping all operations business functions including people, structure, and equipment.
  • Develop and successfully execute effective management systems to ensure safe and productive engagement of employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Lead the development, growth, and innovation of the ETS business.
  • Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers.

What You Will Bring

  • Previous experience in an operations leadership role for an industrial organisation (hazardous waste, energy, logistics, manufacturing)
  • Strong understanding of liquid and hazardous waste and previous risk management exposure
  • Strong people management experience
  • Proven experience in managing a business unite with a comprehensive responsibility over P&L, people and safety.
  • Regulatory and quality compliance experience
  • Continuous improvement, process, and systems implementation experience.
  • Familiarity and awareness of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act
  • Familiarity and awareness of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code
