About the Role
HEH Civil is seeking an experienced and driven Survey Manager to oversee all surveying activities across our diverse civil projects. Based in Cairns with regular travel to project sites, you'll lead a team of surveyors, ensure data accuracy, and collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all survey operations across multiple sites.
• Manage, store, and archive project survey data.
• Produce quality reports, drawings, and sketches to project specifications.
• Monitor monthly costs and budgets for survey activities.
• Lead, mentor, and schedule survey field staff.
• Verify survey data accuracy and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Liaise with contract surveyors, engineers, and design consultants.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment (Topcon, GPS, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
About You
• Recognised qualification in surveying (minimum Diploma).
• Demonstrated experience in engineering surveying and management, ideally on large-scale, tier 1 projects.
• Strong leadership skills and a collaborative, "can do" attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Financial reporting and budgeting experience.
• Current Queensland Driver's Licence and Construction Induction (White/Blue Card).
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Traffic Management Road Signage Awareness (Level I) preferred but not essential.
• Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
