Produce Area Manager

We are now seeking a motivated and passionate PRODUCE AREA MANAGER to lead our PRODUCE TEAMS in our Forbes, Blayney & West Wyalong stores.

About the Role:

This full-time position of Produce Area Manager requires a highly organised and capable individual who is responsible for the execution of agreed strategy in all Stores Produce Departments. Ensuring the highest quality shopping experience by delivering a high standard of product & merchandising, whilst engaging effectively with customers to maximise sales and profit through effective coaching of your teams and and inventory control. Independant FV store management experience is essential.

Attention to detail is essential and the successful candidate will have an important role to play in the success of our business, ensuring department appearance, customer service and operational functions are first class every day.

Responsibilities:

• Outstanding customer service standards

• Execution on merchandising strategy with a culture of creating the "wow factor" in all stores

• Execution on ensuring our stores become famous for their produce sections & displays

• Ensuring Legislative compliance in all areas of the department

• Ensuring the correct storage and rotation of goods

• Profit and loss management, including ordering, invoices, stocktaking & management of shrinkage

• In conjunction with your Store managers – Successful Operational execution of all areas of the departments

• In conjunction with Store managers - Personnel cost management, including rostering

• In conjunction with Store managers - Coach, direct and provide ongoing support, training and development for your team to ensuring culture & standards are maintained in your absence

• Based in the Forbes store for approx 60% of the time - but visiting other stores each week/ fortnight ensuring execution of strategy and standards

• A valid driver's licence is required for travel between store locations

What we need from you:

• Previous Fruit & Vege management experience in an independent style store

• A minimum of 3-4 years of Fruit & Vegetable management experience is required

• Intimate hands-on understanding of a fruit & veg store and its merchandising culture

• Understanding of Fruit & Veg best practice including Shrink management, inventory & merchandising

• Customer service focused

• Ability to engage, mentor and lead a team

• Excellent communication skills

Bernardi's now operate large format supermarkets and 20 Discount stores & employ over 600 people in the Central West & across the state.
