Overview

The Chief People & Safety Officer will support you to develop and succeed in this role, surrounded by fun and friendly teams throughout the organisation. This is a new role with the opportunity to shape it into something special.

Opportunities to travel and work throughout the Pilbara (but not compulsory).

12 month fixed term contract with possibility of extension and permanency.

The role

Every day will bring a new challenge and opportunity to explore projects and develop new initiatives. There will also be a balance of the usual employee lifecycle activities including:

  • Providing front line HR and safety advice.
  • Applying recruitment and onboarding actions.
  • Administration of professional development and training programs.
  • Supporting the probation and performance review programs.
  • Maintaining records and compliance across all regulatory frameworks.
  • Producing automated and manual reports and transpose into graphs.
  • Contributing to the development of policies, procedures and business documents.
  • Championing employee wellbeing, engagement, and safe workplace culture policy and practice.
  • Be fearless in engaging new software and technologies to enhance and simply systems and processes.

The requirements

  • Experience working with a diverse workforce
  • Well developed skills in building working relationships across a remote and dispersed workforce.
  • Experience across the full employee life-cycle and understanding of employment and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Well developed writing and data entry skills with absolute attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, act with integrity and apply privacy legislation and practices.
  • Experience in applying safety and worker's compensation legislation and activities or willingness to develop in this space is a must.
  • Experience working in for purpose organisations (desirable)
  • Qualification in HR (advantageous)
