Plenti is a fintech lender, providing faster, fairer loans by leveraging its smart technology. Plenti is a dynamic and innovative business that is growing strongly. By continuing to deliver better customer experiences, Plenti is taking market share from incumbent players in the personal lending, renewable energy, and automotive finance markets. We are a fast moving and ambitious business that seeks to recruit smart and capable people, who can take ownership of their role to help the business thrive. With over 250 people based in Australia, Plenti is of a size where everyone can make a difference in their role and help us realise our very big ambitions as a team, as we go about building Australia's best lender. Plenti is a founder led business that launched in 2014, listed on the ASX since 2020 with annual revenue of over $250 million and a loan portfolio of over $2.5 billion.
About the Role: As the Product Manager for the Direct Channel, you will be the driving force behind the platform that brings new customers to Plenti. Your primary mission is to dramatically increase our application conversion rate by developing a deep, data-driven understanding of our user journey and relentlessly removing friction. Success in this role means a direct and significant increase in loan origination, all while championing a quality customer experience and ensuring the operational efficiency that allows us to scale. Key Responsibilities:
• Own the Roadmap: You will own the product vision, strategy, and execution for the Direct Channel lifecycle—from the first click on our site, through the application process, to post-funding, cross-sell, and refinance opportunities.
• Lead Your Squad: You will lead and inspire a dedicated cross-functional squad of engineers and designers, fostering a culture of rapid iteration, experimentation, and customer focus. You will run the squad's ceremonies and be accountable for its delivery and impact.
• Be the Voice of the Customer: Go deep on the "why." You'll use tools like SQL, along with customer interviews and user testing, to uncover the biggest pain points and opportunities in our funnel.
• Champion Experimentation: You will instill a rigorous A/B testing discipline, forming hypotheses, designing experiments, and using the results to make high-impact product decisions.
• Partner with Sales & Operations: You will act as the key strategic product partner for our Direct Sales and Operations teams. You won't just take feature requests; you will bring a strong product point of view, using data to advocate for the right balance between sales velocity, operational efficiency, and long-term customer experience.
• Manage Stakeholders: You will build strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Credit, Risk, Legal, and Marketing to ensure your product solutions are not only effective but also compliant and commercially sound. About You:
• Data-Driven Decision Maker: You've got a proven knack for diving into data to guide product thinking. You're confident writing SQL, building dashboards in tools like Mixpanel, or similar, and using insights to influence decisions—not just track performance.
• Strong Experimentation Skills: You bring a rigorous approach to A/B testing—from designing experiments and running tests through to interpreting results and turning them into clear, actionable outcomes. You know your way around concepts like statistical significance and test design.
• Customer-First Mentality: You've got strong empathy for users and a sharp eye for what makes a great experience. Even if you're not a designer, you can spot friction points and champion the right solutions to create real value for customers.
• Technically Curious: You don't need to write code, but you understand how digital products are built. You're across things like APIs, backend systems and architecture, so you can have informed, productive conversations with engineers.
• Excellent Stakeholder Management: You're a natural communicator who can bring people along on the journey. You know how to align teams around a common goal, handle pushback with confidence, and advocate for the customer—always backing your case with data and logic.
• Growth Mindset: You're constantly looking to sharpen your skills and become a better product manager. You're open to feedback, keen to learn, and stay on top of evolving best practices in product development. Reporting Relationships This role reports to the Head of Product. What's life like at Plenti?
Working at Plenti means joining a team that is high-performing, diverse, customer-focused and collaborative. It's a place where everyone can "make it happen" and share in the results and success. If being in a dynamic industry as part of a market-leading fintech sounds like you, then join to help us reshape Australia's financial eco-system for the good.
In return, you will enjoy a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship to take your career further. We offer flexible working and volunteer and study leave to develop your skills. We also have monthly social events, office snacks, company Townhalls and D&I initiatives and events to help you connect with your colleagues. Plenti is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people with disabilities. When you apply, let us know of any reasonable adjustments you may need during the interview process so we can accommodate you. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
