About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Birch & Waite Foods, based in Orange, NSW. In this role, you will be responsible for providing mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation services for production and packaging equipment within our food manufacturing facility. You will ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Australian Standards, supporting our production targets and quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on mixers, pumps, conveyors, filling lines, and automated packaging equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults using technical manuals and engineering drawings
- Assist in the installation, assembly, and commissioning of new equipment
- Set up and calibrate machinery according to specifications
- Collaborate on system modifications to improve performance and safety
- Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize production disruption
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and compliance records
- Source and manage inventory of spare parts
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a mechanical engineering role
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems in manufacturing environments
- Competence in preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair techniques
- Knowledge of WHS requirements and Australian Standards
