Join us in building better health in the bush
Your opportunity
The School Based Youth Health Nurse (SBYHN) is a clinical nurse who contributes to the prevention of illness and injury in young people through the establishment and delivery of health optimisation programs and the provision of health information, brief health intervention and referral for State Secondary School students. Utilising primary health care strategies, the SBYHN supports the health and well-being of school students and the broader school community.
In addition, the SBYHN applies clinical expertise and professional capabilities to effectively support State Schools in addressing the changing and complex needs of young people through a whole of school approach to health promotion that achieves optimal health and wellbeing outcomes for young people.
The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences.
Cunnamulla Is a Designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) Site In Accordance With The Nurses And Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This Attracts Additional Entitlements Which May Include
- An annual isolation bonus paid annually
- Return airfares to the nearest provincial city in conjunction with leave
- Additional annual leave per annum
Please note: Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) implications may apply, it is recommended that individuals seek independent financial advice.
If you are looking for a sea change, you might find your home away from home in the outback town of Cunnamulla. Surfing the sand dunes, relaxing in the artesian springs nearby, having a mudbath at Eulo, exploring national parks and fishing the Warrego river are all on the agenda in this red dirt outback escape.
