What you'll be doing

This position is within a multidisciplinary Child Protection Unit and will provide strategic leadership and clinical expertise to the social workers to ensure that high quality assessments and therapy is provided to clients of the Unit. It will ensure models of service delivery are responsive to client needs, utilise evidence based practice and promote the development of effective and collaborative working relationships with other departments and agencies. Management responsibilities include planning, monitoring and review of services and policy, coordination of student placements and supervision of social workers. The position also involves education and training and participation in research.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has eligibility for membership of the AASW
  • Demonstrates high level understanding of current child protection and child sexual assault service policy and practice and the needs of children involved in the statutory child protection system, including understanding of inter-agency roles and responsibilities in working with children and young people who have experienced significant risk of harm
  • Demonstrates experience in developing projects, monitoring progress and performance and to enhance service quality improvement
