re you a compassionate and dedicated support worker looking to make a real difference? We're seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team and support a young participant living with Angelman Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored care and help enhance the life of someone truly special.
About the Role:
You'll be supporting a complex participant in Ferntree Gully with a variety of daily tasks and meaningful activities, including:
- Assisting with appointments, daily routines, and mealtimes
- Personal care (showering, dressing)
- Engaging in fun and enriching activities like swimming, library visits, cinema trips, and zoo outings
- Implementing strategies from allied health professionals, including communication support using AAC devices
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver person-centred support aligned with NDIS goals
- Facilitate social and community engagement
- Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
- Follow individual support plans and therapy strategies
- Maintain accurate progress notes and report incidents as required
- Collaborate with families, team members, and healthcare professionals
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent (essential)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (mandatory)
- Working With Children Check (mandatory)
- Experience with intellectual disabilities, ASD, ADHD, OCD, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Fragile X, or Angelman Syndrome is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting others
