About the role

Human Resources Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the human resources strategy for a company of approximately 100 employees. This position oversees all aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, compliance, workstyle reform, diversity, company policies, HR-related litigation issues and payroll administration.

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager of Operations & Administration, the HR Manager will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic guidance on workforce planning, organizational culture, and change management to support the company's growth and operational goals. The role involves hands-on management of HR processes, ensuring seamless execution of policies and programs that enhance employee engagement, productivity, and retention.

The HR Manager oversees payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, while also managing administrative and office functions, including maintaining the office environment, managing facilities and workplace safety, coordinating company events, and overseeing company vehicle allocation and compliance.

By leading and mentoring the HR & Office Administrator, the HR Manager will ensure effective coordination of HR and administrative functions, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and operational expertise, with a focus on aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, maintaining legal compliance, and promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Candidate Criteria

Knowledge/ Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a similar leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing HR functions in a small to mid-sized company employees).
  • Hands-on experience with payroll processing and HRIS systems (e.g., Employment Hero or similar).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree or HR certification preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to develop, coach and mentor team members in areas of expertise.
  • Ability to problem solve to find win-win solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a small HR team. Skilled in fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Unwavering commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive employee information with the highest level of integrity and discretion.
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives, such as restructuring, policy updates, or culture shifts, while maintaining employee morale and engagement.
