About The Organisation

The Centre for Women & Co. is a trusted not-for-profit organisation making a meaningful difference in the lives of women and families across Southeast Queensland. With a deep commitment to domestic and family violence prevention, counselling, and community education, we empower individuals to build safety, resilience, and opportunity.

Our passionate team is at the heart of everything we do. Together, we deliver innovative programs that strengthen communities and create lasting impact. Following a period of strength and stability, we are excited to expand our Board and are now seeking two new Directors to contribute their expertise and passion to our mission.

The Opportunities

These are rewarding opportunities to join a skilled and values-driven Board, supporting our CEO and Executive team to guide The Centre for Women & Co. through a continued phase of growth and innovation.

We are specifically seeking Directors with experience in the following areas:

  • Finance – A qualified CPA or CFO (or equivalent senior financial expertise) to provide financial oversight and governance.

  • Legal – A qualified lawyer, ideally with expertise in HR, workplace relations, or industrial relations.

As a Director, you'll have the chance to contribute your insights to strategic direction, uphold strong governance, and help ensure The Centre for Women & Co. continues to thrive as a leader in our sector.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking Directors who bring:

  • Strong governance experience and sound judgement.

  • A commitment to collaboration, inclusion, and positive change.

  • A values-driven approach, aligned with our mission of empowering women and families.

  • Skills in financial or legal areas (as outlined above) that will strengthen and diversify our Board.

Commitments

  • Monthly Board meetings (a mix of virtual and in-person, approximately 10 per year).

  • Participation in strategic planning workshops and key organisational events.

  • Ongoing engagement with the CEO and Company Secretary to ensure effective governance.
