An opportunity has arisen in the Finance team for a Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial insight and robust management accounting support across our Marvel Stadium team. By managing end-to-end finance processes and supporting the Stadium team with timely analysis and advice, this role enables informed decision-making, optimises business performance, and ensures the AFL meets its financial and operational objectives for one of it's most important assets.

 On any day you may be:

  • Delivering monthly management reporting, annual budgets, and forecasts
  • Building strong working relationships and establishing trust with the Marvel Stadium team and broader business
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support AFL membership, corporate hospitality, and stadium marketing
  • Providing financial leadership and accounting support to department General Managers and the Executive General Manager, including monthly variance analysis and insights
  • Contributing to working groups within the business partnering team
  • Working with cost centre managers to ensure effective cost control and accurate reporting
  • Presenting financial results and analysis to stakeholders as required
  • Advising and supporting management on operational issues, including stadium tenders and new business proposals

This is a great role if you have broad commercial exposure and proven commercial acumen with report, budget and forecasting experience. A candidate who would excel in this role has:

  • Tertiary-level accounting qualifications, with postgraduate accreditation (CPA/CA)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounting role
  • A solid understanding of relevant accounting standards and taxation requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver on time
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management across all levels of an organisation

A standout candidate may also have:

  • Previous experience or knowledge in stadium operations and/or sporting administration
  • Exposure to accounting systems such as Workday and/or Microsoft 365
