With over 24,000 people contributing to the sustainability of racing in WA, RWWA oversees the Greyhound, Thoroughbred and Harness racing codes and operates the TAB.
As a values-driven organisation anchored by Respect, Accountability, Connection and Excellence, we offer a workplace where meaningful work, purpose and camaraderie intersect. Join us and contribute to the technology that powers racing across Australia.
Job DescriptionThe Opportunity

We are seeking a highly capable Business Analyst to play a key role in supporting the evolution of the OzChase product. In this unique role, you will engage directly with customer states across Australia, elicit and document requirements, translate complex operational needs into system enhancements, and work collaboratively with our internal developers and testers to bring improvements to life.
This position is offered as a permanent part-time role hours per week), with flexibility to structure your preferred working pattern across three, four or five days.
Experience in the racing industry is beneficial but not essential - what matters most is your analytical mindset, customer-centric approach, and ability to turn problems into clarity and solutions.
QualificationsWhat You'll Do
- Lead the capture, analysis and documentation of clear and actionable functional and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and discovery sessions with customer states and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with developers, testers, product owners and SMEs throughout the SDLC to support accurate solution design.
- Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for a wide range of audiences.
- Produce high-quality artefacts including user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, data insights and business cases.
- Manage competing priorities, ensuring requirements are delivered in line with timelines, scope and stakeholder expectations.
- Support testing activities, including reviewing test cases and participating in UAT.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in business analysis practices, documentation standards and team ways of working.
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst within software development or product environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, technical teams and business owners.
- Proven capability in writing detailed and effective user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and influence outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple streams of work, navigate ambiguity and deliver within agreed timelines.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence and process mapping platforms.
- Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases and cloud environments (highly desirable)
Your Behaviours and Skills
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Evidence of effective negotiation, influence and stakeholder management.
- Curiosity and a commitment to understanding business problems deeply.
- Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, customer-driven environment.
Why Join Us?
At RWWA, you won't just manage a platform - you'll drive its evolution to enable business transformation. We are a purpose-driven organisation where your technical expertise and leadership will make a meaningful impact.
We offer:
- Flexibility that works for you: hybrid work options, flexible hours, and the tools to work effectively anywhere.
- Investment in your growth: a personal learning and development budget and access to cutting-edge training.
- A workplace built for people: brand-new offices with wellness spaces, end-of-trip facilities, and collaborative zones.
