Hotel Jesmond is a well-known suburban pub in Newcastle, NSW, with a loyal customer base, recently refreshed spaces, and a strong focus on great service. As part of a family-owned and growing hospitality group, we're looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager to join our leadership team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll work closely with the General Manager and other senior staff to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality venue operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the front-of-house team during service
  • Oversee day-to-day venue operations and shift management
  • Assist with rostering, cash handling, and stock control
  • Ensure venue presentation and customer service are always up to standard
  • Maintain compliance with RSA, RCG, and venue policies
  • Close the venue (latest finish is midnight)

About You

We're looking for a confident, capable operator who is passionate about hospitality and ready to step up in a leadership role.

You'll bring:

  • 2+ years' experience in a supervisor or assistant manager role
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • A calm, proactive approach to challenges
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as required
  • Current RSA and RCG certificates (or willingness to obtain)
