DevOps Consultant

Join our Downer Professional Services team and express your interest in future opportunities within our
Technical and Advisory Capability
stream. We are seeking to engage skilled professionals with Defence or Defence industry experience to join our permanent workforce and support complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We're interested in hearing from professionals with experience aligned with the below roles:

• DevOps Integrators
• DevOps System Administrators
• DevOps Tier 3 Support

What You'll Bring

Previous experience ideally within the Defence or consulting services industries.

• Proven DevOps expertise, including planning, integrating, and operating systems across computing, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve operational issues and bugs in complex systems.
• Experience in secure software development, including test-driven development, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
• Hands-on integration experience, collaborating with development, testing, and operations teams to deliver validated, secure systems.
• Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent industry experience.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum
Negative Vetting 1
or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
